As for the effect on the PSD preview above, I just added a simple Surface Blur. Here’s what to do:
- After satisfied with any colouring/editing, Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E to merge all layers without actually flattening
- with this new layer, click Filter > Blur > Surface Blur
- you’ll see two settings to play with: Radius and Threshold
- for the above preview, I used Radius: 30 and Threshold:15
- play with the settings depending on your image though, until you have a result you like
- I didn’t use any layer options like overlay, lighten, etc, but you never know what might work with an image until you play around.
